วันจันทร์ (8 ก.ค.) สำนักงานทรัพยากรน้ำของหูหนานเผยว่าแนวป้องกันแห่งที่สอง ความยาว 14.3 กิโลเมตร กำลังได้รับผลกระทบจากการไหลซึมทะลุของน้ำจนส่งผลให้ตัวเขื่อนถูกกัดเซาะจากด้านใน เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจและนักดับเพลิงมากกว่า 300 ชีวิตจึงกำลังเร่งรับมือปัญหาดังกล่าว
